FOUNDATION FOR RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY-HELLAS (FORTH)/ PRAXI NETWORK
The Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH), established in 1983, is one of the largest research centers in Greece with well organized facilities, highly qualified personnel and a reputation of a top-level research foundation worldwide. The Foundation, with headquarters in Heraklion, focuses on areas of major scientific, social, and economic interest, such as: Microelectronics, Lasers, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Sciences, Computational Mathematics, Chemical Engineering and Mediterranean Studies.
PRAXI Network, a distinct administrative unit operating within FORTH, has been established since 1991 as a strategic partnership of the industrial and research worlds in Greece (FORTH, SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and FING – Federation of Industries of Northern Greece). PRAXI Network’s mission is to guide and assist Greek enterprises and laboratories in pursuit of competitiveness by forging sustainable links between research and industry, via the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship as well as transnational cooperation. Its services are extended from information to mediation, and include advisory support covering the whole spectrum of innovation related activities, namely research collaboration, technology transfer, intellectual property and commercial exploitation of research results.
