CASSINI Space Entrepreneurship Initiative

CASSINI is the European Commission’s initiative to support entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs in the space industry, including New Space, during 2021-2027. The initiative is open to all areas of the EU Space Programme, and covers both upstream (i.e. nanosats, launchers, etc.) and downstream (i.e. products/services enabled by space data, etc.). CASSINI includes a €1 billion EU seeds and growth fund, hackathons and mentoring, prizes, a business accelerator, partnering and matchmaking.

Hackathons & Mentoring (Read more)

Europe-wide CASSINI Hackathons are a major opportunity to develop ideas for a digital application building on space data, including satellite images and positioning services.

The 5th CASSINI Hackathon will take place simultaneously across 10 different locations on 24-26 March 2023.

Matchmaking (Read more)

The CASSINI Matchmaking offers step-by-step support to startup, scaleup companies and SMEs in the preparation of matchmaking with investors and corporates, to improve their ability to attract venture capital funding and form industrial partnerships.

This CASSINI initiative currently contains the myEUspace competition and CASSINI Prize for digital space applications.

The CASSINI Business Accelerator is a six-month acceleration programme offering top-level business and investment coaching, training, events, and more that brings together 20 of the top space startups in Europe.

Access to Finance (Read more)

Enabling many more space companies to raise risk capital – that is the objective of the CASSINI Facility. It provides capital to VC funds to be invested into EU-based companies developing and marketing space technology and digital services using space data.
